Barbara has had some hard knocks but her claim to fame used to be teaching the "Word of God" and having a strong “prophetic” mantle. The Holy Spirit would teach her everything that she would need to know. The Father led Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch to open a Church called “Haven of Rest” in her home in 1984. As the Fathers plans grew, the Father expanded the ministry from “Haven of Rest” to the “Lighthouse Inc., Church”. in 1991. She had been instrumental in fulfilling the call to equip the Saints of God to do the work of the Father. Because she allowed the Father to train her in His ways, she has led many to His throne of Grace.

The Father had chosen her to be an Evangelist, Revivalist and Glory Carrier for Him. Her heart’s desire was to please her Father in Heaven. She was committed to staying before Him and seeking His face at every moment. She used to mentor those who had a heart to be in the ministry. She was a forerunner. She used to have a powerful deliverance ministry where many captives were set free. She used to actively work to set God’s people free through deliverance. She used to be committed to teaching and training the Body of Christ to walk in the gifts of the Spirit. Something happened and changed all of this. A delusion of the heart took place. It was a subtle gradual shifting away from the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In hindsight none of us knew that something was changing on the inside of her. These changes have altered her destiny in a way that is so scary.

She was a no-nonsense type of person that fit the archetype of a modern-day prophet. From her own account she was in Church all of her life. Her grandmother kept her in Church. She was always “special”. Barbara's mom has been quoted by her as saying Barbara was "different". What this meant no one really knows. There are multiple accounts of that "differentness" from Barbara herself. She reveals how she received a special calling from God at a "Full Gospel Businessmen's Meeting" long ago.

In one story she recounts of an unknown prophet coming to a town that she was in. She attended an event and this prophet later gave her a personal prophetic word in which he exclaimed that she (Barbara) was the 'one'. The 'one' for what no one really knows but after this prophet's declaration Barbara's pastor at the time drowned her in anointing oil so that she could go on to fulfill her destiny of greatness at something. Barbara recounts of how Dr. Rodney Howard Browne offered to set her up with a church in Florida where she would be accepted in the Body of Christ. At the time Dr. Browne told her that her preaching was too hard. Her words, people loved her but couldn’t sit under her teaching. Curious, the very thing that she was good at seems to be the thing she left. Another “prophetic” person told her that she was to be anointed as an evangelist to the Body of Christ.

Barbara’s first marriage tied her to Theodore (Ted) King. They had three (3) children together. Marriage lasted 45 years but she recounts on many occasions just how horrible that marriage was. Often telling us that after she had her third child her husband announced that they no longer would be intimate or have marital relations. This devastated her but she gave God her physical human womanly needs and went deeper into the married but celibate life. She appeared to share this story as a triumph of God’s love but it really exposed her deep loneliness and rejection.

Barbara’s second marriage tied her to Lawrence (Larry) Lynch. Larry brought 4 of his own children from previous marriages into Barbara’s life and there was no shortage of turmoil. This marriage started in a bed of controversy. You see Larry was originally supposed to marry Barbara’s third daughter. Yep, it’s complicated. Short story long the misdeeds of Larry’s pre-Christ life began to hit the winds, and the Body of Christ ate them alive. No one liked that Larry was 20+ years younger than Barbara. No one liked that Larry and her third daughter had a relationship first. After Larry’s pre-Christ lifestyle made the news it was over for this marriage. They stayed together almost twenty years but the marriage was not what Barbara had “prophesied” that it would be. Larry had baggage and was not able to transition from his pre-Christ life into the constraints of being married to the great prophet Barbara. Short story long this marriage was filled with more loneliness for Barbara. In the midst of all of this her life continue to be touted as the example of what a good Christian should be. One who suffers for the righteousness; the story line in the home did not match the press release about the home.

The rejection in the marriages; the rejection from her children because of the marriages; and the rejection from the Body of Christ began to take its toll on Barbara. More and more the pressures to be on the cutting edge of the ‘prophetic’ movement pushed her into different realms of apostasy. There was some self-shunning that took place. There was some public shunning that took place. Barbara often recounts a prophetic word that she was given by a well-known prophet at the time. The prophecy in front of an entire congregation went as follows, “Your fruit is bad, I’m going to cut your tree down and regrow you”. This is just a summary of what she has said over the years of me hearing her sermons. Any good that Barbara had done by teaching, healing, & prophesying over people was removed. The ridicule from the Body of Christ rose to a new level but she continued to teach and prophesy to the Body of Christ. She persisted because she was ‘special’.

The need to succeed was fueled by the ridicule and rejection that was an ever-constant presence in Barbara’s life. She continued to search and try to be on the cutting edge of what God was doing. The crazy part about this is that she was already successful in her own right, but she just didn’t see it. She has a college degree in Psychology, a retired State of Delaware employee, has run multiple businesses in her time and yes ran the Lighthouse Inc., Church. This was not enough for her. She kept searching for the next big thing in Christendom. She found it in the progression of the charismatic and prophetic movements. She studied and followed these people with cult like precision. I don’t know if she understood what she was doing but the drive to be on top continued to take her down the road of apostasy that she is now on. The enemy used rejection and loneliness to destroy her from the inside out. The truth of the matter is that there is always a scenario to make her an outcast/misfit from the rest of the Body of Christ. It’s clear to me that her need to be ‘special’ and accepted helped push her down this road.

Even I, as much as I have learned the Bible, did not see the corruption that is in the current Charismatic/Prophetic church. I sensed that something was wrong and would often tell my wife some of the things that prophets like Paul Cain, Bob Jones, Rick Joyner, Chuck Pierce, Cindy Jacobs, James Goll, and John Paul Jackson just did not seem to line up with the Word of God. I maintained an intense study personally which caused me to personally gain ground and understanding of the word of God.  I was blessed from Barbara’s first years of teaching the Bible. I noticed that I was growing, but others in the Lighthouse Inc., Church were not.  I later learned that they did not practice self-feeding on the Word of God to the degree that I did. I remember at this point being sensitive in the Spirit when it came to the Word of God. This was not a slam on anyone else. It really has become a part of who I am.

It’s funny but the Word of God brought conflict into my relationship with Barbara. Oftentimes I would be accused of being too religious and to intense with the Bible. It wasn't anything that I was doing to separate myself. I was fortunate to have a solid foundation in the Word of God. This foundation I believe is what kept me safe from going into the deepest delusions that have hit the Body of Christ within the Charismatic/Prophetic movement. I told my wife repeatedly that something is wrong.  But I had no idea what it really was until after we resigned from the Lighthouse Inc., Church cult.

It's interesting what comes across your feeds in social media. I'm going to be spooky spiritual here for a moment just bear with me. I began to be fed clips on YouTube from the William Branham Historical Research channel called “Leaving the Message” by John Collins.  Collins began sharing his testimony of how he once was a part of the William Branham cult but he and his family escaped it. He started sharing how the modern day Charismatic/Prophetic movements have all of their roots traced back to William Branham. He systematically explains how William Branham was a false prophet who faked miracles and was tied to white supremacy and Christian nationalism in the early 1940s. He has done extensive research and proven to me that today's modern prophetic movement has been tainted and corrupted. So, here's my human knowledge tied together with the Bible. If the foundation is wrong, everything that is built upon that foundation is wrong as well. I mean everything.

The problem being now is did these people know that the foundation was wrong and did they purposely mislead the Body of Christ in America with their false teachings and false prophetic utterances.  This bad foundation has to be tied to Barbara.  Based upon my understanding of her roots and how she grew up in the church.  You have to know the foundation of what she grew up on started with the Full Gospel Businessmen's Association. This was one of the offshoots of William Branham. Their fruit was bad and eventually it revealed itself. All of these different groups were exposed, then they went into hiding mode where they rebranded themselves.  They changed their names and organizational structures on the surface but underneath the same root system was their.  Everything that grew from it was corrupted.  Look at the different scandals that have hit the Church.  They all tie back to Branham and his lies. 

Modern Pentecostalism has ties to William Branham.  The Assemblies of God, Church of God in Christ, The National Apostolic Reformation (NAR) all have ties to William Branham's false teachings and false prophecies. Paul Cain, a prophetic person for his time, learned everything from William Branham {Learn More}.  John Collins has done a lot of research and connected all of these movements together.   I highly encourage you to visit his website {visit by clicking here} and learn the truth. I remember when Carlton Pearson fell. He began teaching about “God would never send grandma and grandpa to Hell”. In one of the interviews that I watched of him after he fell he made a statement that shocked me but I am now finding that statement to be completely true. He said that all of the top church leaders know and believe that the Bible is wrong.

Carlton Pearson believed that many of the teachings of the Charismatic/Prophetic church are all built on lies… but the leaders in these churches taught the lies anyway because they didn’t care about the people.  What a shocking statement that he made? He believed this unto his death. He was right about the lies but wrong about what the lies were.  There is a problem in the American Church, and this problem is centered around the Word of God.  I hope that Pearson did not die in his delusion but there is no proof nor evidence that he ever changed his opinion on what he thought he knew and believed. The delusion in him (Pearson) became strong and overpowered him to where he would fully denounce the truth of the Bible.

Internally, this put me on high alert, and I made a commitment to forever check things with and against the Bible. I believe every Christian should live this way. It is the only safe place because man will fail you. Just like Barbara failed me and the rest of the Body of Christ. She ultimately will be held accountable by God for what she has done/is doing. You must know that people can fall away from God and into a delusion of their own making if they are not watching what is happening to them.

The modern Prophetic/Charismatic movement has destroyed the biblical foundation that was in the Church prior to the Church’s earliest existence. How did they do this? They systematically downplayed the importance of the Word of God. Barbara started feeding on this rhetoric that came out from leaders like Bob Jones, Cindy Jacobs, Mike Bickle, Bill Johnson, Rick Joyner, Lou Engle and others. Their apparent success in the ministry manifested by the numbers of people following them. This became very attractive not only to Barbara, but also to others in the ministry who had hopes, dreams, and expectations of achieving the same things. They did not however, understand that these people had sold their souls to the devil and became willing accomplices to performing lying signs and wonders. The narrative was established in the heart of Barbara that she would become another Kathryn Kulhman. This is the woman who was famous for the false teacher Benny Hinn. The fake miracle worker that rose and fell in prominence over the last 30 years. Again, the secret desire inside of Barbara was to live up to the specialness that everyone spoke into her life. This pushed her into a place where she needed to cause things to happen on their own outside of God’s perfect will. This was done in order to create a name for herself in the Body of Christ in Delaware.

In her early days PBL was noted for wonderful Bible teachings. This is what really fed the anointing that she had. Many people want the shortcut routes to a great anointing, but they failed to realize the route that God always honors and blesses is through His Word. There is no other way. Jesus is the door that you must go through. If you shut that door the pure anointing from God is cut off and you will be subject and prey to the demonic anointing. It will destroy you and everyone around you. The demonic anointing mimics the real thing. And there is a real anointing that cannot be outmatched by the demonic. Where I believe Barbara went astray is when she followed the supposed leaders of the Charismatic/Prophetic movement over the edge into their false teachings that the Word of God is not enough.

They believed, promoted, and sought out signs, wonders, and miracles over the presence of God. This desire is an unholy desire because it makes signs, wonders, and miracles an idol before God. It makes the prophetic gifting an idol before God. It makes the healing anointing an idol before God. Barbara did this to herself. Instead of just being content with what God had given her she allowed a covetous spirit to open the doorway for a lust for power, fame, and notoriety to come into her. This opened up every door inside of her and she became the perfect vessel for the enemy to use to destroy the people that followed her. What's sad about this story is that as I look across the Body of Christ, I see this same scenario being copied and repeated in many houses of God today. We do not understand that the American Church has fallen. Our leaders got caught up in the glitz, the glamour, and the fame of the modern Charismatic/Prophetic movement. This began celebrity Christianity in the American church.

The leaders of the Body of Christ in America stopped seeking God and started seeking status. The people in the Body of Christ stopped seeking the God of prophecy and started seeking prophecy. No good can come from a system that is not built on the right foundation. It does not matter how good the intentions were for "signs and wonders", without the Word of God being the sure foundation good intentions will provide the necessary ingredients to build satan's kingdom. Did the modern day Charismatic/Prophetic movement set out to be infiltrated and taken over by evil? No! Are all prophetic people evil? No! Is there room for great error to take place if one is not careful with how they move with spiritual things? Yes! These events tie together and provide the ability for the attention to be taken off of God and placed upon the devil. The devil loves to be worshipped. What better way than to get the Body of Christ to worship the devil than by giving the Body of Christ empty religion via signs and wonders. We have entered into a season of the signs and wonders lying to us. We have entered into a season where the Body of Christ is open to these manifestations, and the Body of Christ is not open to God. This is deception.

Barbara (and all the rest of us) if not careful could fall prey to all of this religious activity. It looks good. It looks like God would have you say and do these things, but it is not God. It is the devil driving all of this. The modern Charismatic/Prophetic movement has been corrupted and coopted by the devil. Discernment has been thrown out the window in the name of signs and wonders. Any checks or balances against corruption in the Church are quickly ridiculed into extinction. No one can honestly question a leader who performs signs and wonders. No one can bring up information that will harm the golden cow of the prophetic utterance or the prophetic person who gives forth that utterance. Prophecy must be tested at all costs. Not the sheep from abuse... not the Body of Christ from false prophets... but the prophets who are destroying people with their bad character. They get the pass. They get the benefit of the doubt because we must protect the prophetic.

Whoever said that it was lonely at the top did not lie. Imagine running an empire; imagine running a church where you believe in your heart that everyone is out to get you. Where you believe in your heart that the person who has assisted you for 30 plus years is not loyal to you. The family that surrounds you is not on the same page. They're not living as they should by being adults and providing for themselves. You're carrying your entire weight plus theirs. Your bank accounts all dwindle down to nothing. Bills are coming due and you have no way of providing for you and the other adults that are under your care. Your first and your second husband leave the earth and anyone who could understand is kept at arm's length out of fear that they will take what you have left. Your body begins to deteriorate, and everyone is pointing it out to you. You deny your own fear about what is happening because things are just not right.

You are isolated by your age and in most cases you are the oldest and have been around the longest. You see your ministry begin to fall and crumble. You need that next relevant thing to pull people into the doors so that you can fulfill whatever mission or prophecy you think you have about your life. So it is with Barbara. Imagine How lonely she felt when the memory about a prophetic word about a third husband begins to resurface in her heart. Now enters the hope that someone will come and rescue you from this mess that you have been suffering through. If you haven't been there put yourself in her shoes and see how easy it would be for some silver-tongued devil to come in and whisper sweet nothings into your ears and cause you to believe that he was on the same page with you, even though he was less than half your age.

I didn't see it until after we left but this vulnerability is what opened the door for the mentorship relationship between her and Aaron Betz to become polluted and corrupted. For whatever reason this doorway in her heart remained open. It's purely human; the desire to want to be loved and taken care of. It's understandable why she fell into this. When you think about it this makes sense. The enemy had this plan to stop her from the very beginning and arranged it in one of her weakest moments. It was personal. It was private. It's easy to be deceived when you're hurting this bad. It's not fair but ultimately, she bears the responsibility of what happened between her and her love, Aaron Betz. The prophetic confusion that was in the atmosphere worldwide also ruled and reigned in her heart. The confusion that is in the Charismatic/Prophetic movement has brought destruction into the Body of Christ. 

The ulterior motives of this silver-tongued devil remained hidden.  What he wanted was power.  What he wanted was to avenge his brother.  What he wanted was to expose her weakness before the world.  As we left this began to show itself because plans were in process of him taking over the Church and her standing by his side administrating what went on.  She could not see what he was doing and was therefore taken out by this man. Still blinded by his hidden agenda her loneliness pushed her into his arms.  Her efforts to make his life comfortable by excusing his sins and not holding him accountable caused her to turn away from the Word of God in order to make things comfortable for him. This step proved to be fatal. She believes his lie.  This lie was so smooth and so devious that to this day it has carried her away into a delusion that she may not be able to come out of because she doesn't want to. It was the loneliness of her life that drove her to where she is today.

Could not put Humpty together again.

Sad to say but this infamous nursery rhyme about Humpty Dumpty applies to many in the Body of Christ. Many in the Body of Christ had a great fall. We are living in a day and an age where people take for granted their place in the Kingdom of God and assume that God is cosigning their mess. I often wonder if it were not for the corruption in the Charismatic/Prophetic movement would we even be having this discussion about Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch. It is mind blowing to know the things that she has accomplished in the Spirit realm only to be sidetracked by a false teaching that spread through the entire Prophetic movement. Those who challenge this false teaching concerning "the Word of God not being enough" were disappeared (SILENCED) by the Body of Christ and the leaders who promoted this new doctrine. It is cringe worthy to know the many times that I discounted this error filled teaching in the name of "She's a great prophet and she doesn't really mean it!". This is what I told myself. I know now that she did mean it and I further believe her when she says the Spirit left her. It seems counter intuitive because she should be saying the Spirit of God fell upon her in a greater way after the Word of God was preached but you will see in the video below that this is not what she said or believes. This is evidence to me that she started following another voice the same voice that is leading the current Charismatic/Prophetic movement in the Church today.

As we have shared this tragedy with the Body of Christ, many immediately ascribe this error to her age and the possibility of some unknown medical issue on the same level as Dementia and Alzheimer's. I do believe that this has been ruled out by the continued, cold, calculated way that she is hiding what she actually did. She is hiding that she felt like God had left her. She is hiding that she felt like the anointing of God had left her. She is hiding the truth that she told this to Aaron Betz in many moments of weakness and mentoring intimacy with Aaron that turned something that was meant for good (the mentoring) into something very bad, the clergy sexual abuse). It is not Dementia. It is not Alzheimer's. It is not her age. It is the error that has been sown into her own spirit man by the things that she read and believed in the name of being on the cutting edge of prophetic ministry. Again, her desire to be special combined with the many years of striving to be the best has placed her in a position of great vulnerability. The lack of honesty about where she was in her own heart played a strong role in her fall.

There are many more scriptures that we can bring forth but the bottom line is Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch turned her back on God and she has entered into a place where He is showing His wrath against her. You cannot ignore or reject God's word. By doing so you reject Jesus Christ Himself and God will never have that. You must understand that this is not personal. It is just a retelling of the accounts of what contributed to her fall. She has fallen. Until there is confession and true repentance she will be remain in this corrupted state. Everything that she does is from the wrong spirit. It is from an unholy spirit that is speaking and acting through her. The Lighthouse Inc., Church cult is not safe. Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch is not safe. Selah!
