Our Exodus out of a Cult...

It seems impossible until it happens to you… Kathryn and I have been on a out of darkness and into the light of Christ. Neither one of us ever imagined the possibility that we could have been involved in a cult or a cultlike structure.  Kathryn and I are of average intelligence and have a small bit of common sense. We both love God with all of our hearts and we love “His” Church.

You Were in a Cult?

  • A rude awakening from a harsh reality.
  • Yes, the Lighthouse Inc., Church is a cult.
  • Yes, Evangelist/Pastor Barbara is its leader.

So begins our rude awakening from a harsh reality. There were subtle errors that we chalked up to being in warfare. Our former pastor (Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch) was a devout follower of Christ.  When she was teaching the Bible, she never strayed from its truths. What we didn't know and often times overlooked were small changes that seemed insignificant in the moment.

Looking back at these small changes as a whole and putting all of these “little things" together, we now understand that the purity of the Word of God had been eroding away. Compromise had come into her and thusly flowed into our lives.  This flow would forever change us.

The cult began and we had no idea that we had transformed into this ugly thing.  The Lighthouse Inc., Church has hurt so many people under the leadership of Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch.  We had hopes for the promises of bringing in the lost and ministering to them.  This became a battle ground for all manner of abuse.

Here is the TRUTH...

What is a cult?

A “cult,” in a broad sense, can be any group that aggregates around specific beliefs or practices. In a biblical context, however, the term most often refers to a group claiming a connection with God while denying or corrupting essential doctrines of Scripture. Many such groups present themselves as teaching the true Christian path but depart from core biblical teachings in ways that undermine the message of the gospel. source - Bible Hub

What makes the Lighthouse Inc., Church a cult?

The Lighthouse Inc., Church has the specific belief that the Bible will no longer be taught during their services.  The leader of the Lighthouse Inc., Church (Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch) has heard a voice tell her that the Bible does not work.  This voice has also told her that the Bible is not needed in their worship services.

The Bible says the following:

1 Timothy 4:  10 - 14 (Amplified Bible)
10 It is for this that we labor and strive [often called to account], because we have fixed our [confident] hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe [in Him, recognize Him as the Son of God, and accept Him as Savior and Lord].  11 Keep commanding and teaching these things. 12 Let no one look down on [you because of] your youth, but be an example and set a pattern for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in [moral] purity. 13 Until I come, devote yourself to public reading [of Scripture], to preaching and to teaching [the sound doctrine of God’s word]. 14 Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, [that special endowment] which was intentionally bestowed on you [by the Holy Spirit] through prophetic utterance when the elders laid their hands on you [at your ordination].

Matthew 28:  19 - 20 (Amplified Bible)
19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations [help the people to learn of Me, believe in Me, and obey My words], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always [remaining with you perpetually—regardless of circumstance, and on every occasion], even to the end of the age.”

2 Timothy 3:  16 - 17 (Amplified Bible)
16 All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and6 restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; 17 so that the [a]man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Therefore:  fitting the definition by denying or corrupting essential doctrines of Scripture.  This undermines the message of the gospel.

Video dated 5/17/2025 - Full Video (Click Here)

This message was posted 9 months ago but it was given in November of 2024.  This is actualy when the teaching ended.  In December of 2024 the endless praise and worship sets began..  At this stage it had been 6 months since Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch gave a literal teaching.  Look at their youtube page screenshot taken 9/24/2025.

As you can see on their web page.  This message was given November 24, 2024.  6+ months of just continuous praise and worship and nothing changed.  Then the voice that she listens to tells her to have a revival and have teachings.  My wife has emails where she was told to give a message.  Below is a screen shot of their website showing the actual last message that she gave. November 24, 2024.

As we have processed everything after our exodus, we came to learn more of the truth of what was going on behind the scenes. We learned that in inappropriate relationship with a member of staff begin to formulate and take place in 2021. In addition to this there had been little subtle hints of straying away from the Bible as the charismatic/prophetic movement started its shift away from teaching the Bible. Mainstream churches begin limiting their sermons to 15-to-20-minute intervals as a result of “research” that had been conducted on how to grow your church.

We know now that this was done by the enemy to dumb down the Body of Christ in a way that would make it weak and ineffective. This tactic has worked and you can see a trend across the United States which has culminated in weaker church attendance, weaker biblical knowledge amongst the Body of Christ, and weaker Christians in general. The Lighthouse Inc., Church cult has ties indirectly to the National Apostolic Reformation (NAR) Movement.  Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch follows and listens to messages from Bob Jones, Paul Cain, Cindy Jacobs, Chuck Pierce, Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, Jesse Duplantis, John Paul Jackson, James Goll, Bill Johnson, Lou Engle, Katt Kerr, Katie Souza, Lester Sumrall, and many others.  The NAR is a dangerous cult movement that has its roots in Branhamism.  Branhamism is based off of a false prophet by the name of William Branham.  Branham is none for many false signs and wonders.  This movement gave birth to much of what is today’s charismatic/prophetic movement.  This movement is dangerous from the aspect of severe misquotations and misuse of the Bible to promote a revivalist/circus mentality for church that can never be rightly associated with biblical precepts.

This has fueled a corruption in the American church that has led to the downfall of the American church. Churches have become places for power and prestige in many of the pulpits across America. Unfortunately, this corruption has infected Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch as well. There became an incredible lust for power and prestige.  This consumed everything that went on in the Lighthouse Inc., Church. The elitism and spiritual superiority that was birth from Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch was multiplied and spread amongst her gullible followers, myself included.  This was not noticeable because we were a small fellowship. It still did its damage to many souls who came into the Lighthouse Inc., Church cult.  This fostered an atmosphere where many false teachings were given ground to grow.  There is evidence to suggest that these thought or “prophetic” teachings were not original manifestation to Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch but they came as a result of studying the prophets from the NAR movement.  What was branded as a new revelation from God really came from materials (whether it was teaching tapes, cds, video’s or printed materials) which came from the most popular NAR leaders of the day.  This “new” theology that the Bible was not enough began to spread and destroy any good root system in all of the churches in America.  The Lighthouse Inc., Church was not exempt.

We had no idea that this was going on at the time of our departure. We since learned how much "Koolaid" we had drunken. It was not good for our souls. The regrets are real and very deep. There is a lot of shame for believing these lies. Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch started out on the right road but has become like so many leaders in the church today, completely standing on shaky ground. The danger is all around us. God delivered us from the lies. Things for me started to change. I did notice little things that were not right but I made excuses for what was going on.

On Saturday May 17, 2025 as shown in the video above Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch reveals the reason why she felt that the revival did not go well. The night before in a phone conversation with me, she stated we (Aime, Kathryn, and myself) made her let us do teachings for the revival.  Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch told me the night before and then followed up on Saturday May 17, 2025 with a public declaration of the same.  She revealed to the congregation at this time that she felt like the Spirit of God left her because we didn’t just have song services for the entire revival.  Kathryn and I didn’t know what to think but we came back the next morning (May 18, 2025) for regular Sunday service and she reiterated how bad things were because the people wanted teachings. It was clear to us how bad the people wanted teachings because as the revival went on more people started coming out because teachings were being presented. Somehow this angered Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch and caused her to feel something that we did not understand at the time.

We now believe that the false spirit there she was listening to was behind all of this. My wife left that service early. I was running the sound system and equipment and could not leave.  Kathryn reached out to Alan Farkas (One of the elders in the church) expressed her concerns to him.  He did not help the situation at all.  Short story long we sent Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch an e-mail explaining to her that we would not be in service for the evening because we needed to process what was said.  She never responded to that e-mail at all. No phone call. No text messages. No emails. The next morning there was still nothing from Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch. The following morning we submitted our letters of resignation. Again, no phone call, no text, no emails. Just total and complete silence from Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch.

Here are our letters of resignation:

Let the Smear Campaign Begin...

Evangelust/Pastor Barbara Lynch

The silence continued but there was something nefarious afoot. A new narrative was being created. Kathryn was painted as the lead corrupter and instigator of our exodus. Kathryn was painted as a jezebel and I was painted as absalom. None of these narratives were true but time revealed Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch's true agenda and her hidden sins. We were not prepared for what was about to be revealed to us by the Holy Spirit.

As Evangelist/Pastor Barbara's silence to us continued her anger about this situation shifted into gear. She began the narrative us accusing her of running off Aaron. We never did such. This narrative included a prophetic word that she had given to herself that someone was going to confront her. She claims that God told her to not vindicate herself and He would take care of the confronter. This narrative was repeated over and over again. We captured her saying it in an attempt to shield herself from criticism of what she was really doing.

Evangelist/Pastor Barbara Lynch's next move was to stand 10 toes down on her truth that she was following the voice of God that told her to abandon the Bible. She then wanted to further solidify her stance by removing the pulpit. She had it removed and then laughed about having it burnt. She was serious about never teaching the Bible in her church ever again. Still angry and showing signs of delusion she continued to portray that she had knowledge that Kathryn and I were going to leave the church. If this were true why was she not ready to run the church when we made our exodus?
