The Fire of God - Pt 1

Updated: Jun 16

Episode 2 - The Fire of God - Part 1

Kathryn: Tonight I want to talk about the beginning series of the Fire of God.

Christopher: Love it.

Kathryn: Yeah, When I start to study it a little bit more, it will probably make more sense. But, um, you know, when last week you opened up with, um, a message about the temple of God, and in that message the fire of God was spoken. And it made me think about, you know, our conversation was. It made me think about how there was a, an angel that was in the presence of Moses, how the fire was, um, not put out or what have you. So, um, today I was processing some things and I wanted to learn more about the fire. So as I was listening to Jeremiah today, so what happened was I ended up typing in, you know, what does the Bible say about fire? So all of these scriptures came up. I really only use open Bible M because it just lists out stuff really quick that is spot on in regards to any topic that you, you know, you need. So I just copied and paste it on a word doc. And as I was listening to the word doc, uh, this, um, Scripture hit me out of every. Any other scripture. And here's what it said. Jeremiah 2. Sorry. Jeremiah 23, verse 30, verse 29. Hold on, I need to make this bigger. Okay. Jeremiah 23, verse 29, it reads in the ESV version. Is not my word. Like fire declares the Lord. Like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces.

Christopher: I forgot about that.

Kathryn: Is not my word. Like fire declares the Lord and like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces.

Christopher: So when I heard that, I said, yeah, huh, huh. We gotta have a Bible.

Kathryn: Come on. We definitely in every area of our lives.

Christopher: Yes, you need the fire and you need the hammer.

Kathryn: Listen, what?

Christopher: How people ain't gonna change if they don't got the fire and the hammer.

Kathryn: So when you think about the fire of God, uh, you think about some kind of power that burns. This is me now in research, I typed in what is fire in the natural. So the natural fire is a chemical reaction known as combustion involving rapid combination of oxygen with a fuel source. It produces heat, light, smoke and other gases, resulting in a visible glowing flame.

Christopher: Dag. Uh, the glory.

Kathryn: Then. Think about that till you said it. Wow. The glory of God. Which some people are afraid and some people are in awe. Depends on where you are, in my opinion, what kind of person you are at that moment. So in research, I found the fire of God is a powerful and multifaceted symbol that appears in the throughout the Bible, representing various aspects of God's nature, presence and activity. He signifies his power, his holy presence, and his role. As both judge and refiner. The imagery of fire reminds us of God's uh, greatness and his desire to make us holy. M. So they listed God's uh, nature, presence and activity. So number one, God's nature. Hebrews 12:29 says for our God is a consuming fire. Consuming is of a feeling completely filling one's mind and attention. Observing it's overwhelming, strong,

00:05:00

Kathryn: powerful burning. Jeremiah 20 verse uh, Jeremiah 29 says if I say I will not mention him or speak anymore in his name. There is in my heart, as it were, a burning fire shut up in my bones. And I am weary with holding it. And I cannot.

Christopher: That's all right.

Kathryn: Another definition, especially of fire is to completely destroy number six.

Christopher: Really.

Kathryn: Think about the natural fire destroys and tear some stuff up.

Christopher: Oh, mhm.

Kathryn: Burn it right down. Ashes. Number 1635 says and fire came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men offering the incense. Do you know that scripture? Do you know what that story is about?

Christopher: Say it again.

Kathryn: Numbers 16:35 and fire came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men offering the incense.

Christopher: Uh, that. I think that's N Nab and Abahu when they offer strange fire before God. Uh, and I think the pe. The people was in rebellion.

Kathryn: Let's find out. Cuz I just put that in. I said that sound like God and tore some stuff up over there. Let me, let me, let me see what's going on.

Christopher: I think, I think that's the story. And it was. People don't understand that God in his love and his mercy don't play. He demands that you honor him. He demands the respect that's due him.

Kathryn: That's due. Yeah, yeah. I don't know why people like God said why do you contend with me? What?

Christopher: Yeah, if I remember correctly, that was. That was right around the time where Cor rebelled. Cor and his men rebelled and I think they was coming against Moses.

Kathryn: Let's see, we just talked about it being another definition is completely destroyed. So it's number 16.

Christopher: No.

Kathryn: God ain't to be played with for real. He's a loving guy. He's a gentle God. He's everything but don't play with him. Don't play with him. Ha. Huh. Um, you know, you know the word. What's the Sir Kor's Rebellion.

Christopher: Dag

Kathryn: Korah's Rebellion.

Kathryn: Let's read it now. Cora the son of Izar, son of uh, Kaho, son of Levi and Dathan and Abraham, the son of uh, Eliab and on the son of Peleth sons of Reuben took men, that's what it says. And they rose up before Moses. They rose up before Moses with a number of the people of Israel. 250,000 chiefs of the congregation, chosen from the assembly, well known men. They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said to them, you have gone too far. For all in the congregation are holy, and every one of them, and the Lord is among them. Why then do you exalt yourself above the assembly of the Lord? When Moses heard it, he fell on his face and he said to Korah and all his company, in the morning the Lord will show who is his.

Christopher: What m.

Kathryn: And who is holy.

Christopher: So what happened in chapter 15?

Kathryn: I don't know, my lord. Have mercy. This page got bold on the, on the trim. Laws about unintentional sins, laws about sacrifices. That's what that's about.

Christopher: Uh, so they, they come out of chapter 15 going to 16 with the people, telling Moses, you don't he going too far.

Kathryn: He is all he exalted.

Christopher: So they're mad about the Bible.

Kathryn: That's it.

Christopher: They're mad about the law that Moses brought down.

Kathryn: Shut up. I don't mean to tell you. Shut up.

00:10:00

Kathryn: Let's see here. Let's see here.

Christopher: You going back to 16.

Kathryn: 15.

Christopher: 15.

Kathryn: Because we were in 16. Let me see if it's important. Israel defeated in battle laws about sacrifices. The Lord spoke to Moses saying, speak to the people of Israel and say to them, when you come into the land you are to inhabit, which I am giving you, and you offer to the Lord from the herd or from the flock, a food offering, or a burnt offering, or a sacrifice to fulfill vow, or as a free will offering, or at your appointed feast, to make a pleasing aroma to the Lord. Then he who brings his offering shall offer to the Lord a grain offering of a tenth of an ephah. Uh, a fine flour mixed with a quarter of a hin of oil. And ah, you shall offer with the burnt offering or for the sacrifice, a quarter of a hint of wine. For the drink offering for each lamb or for a ram, you shall offer for a rain offering, 2, 10 of an Ephraim of fine flour mixed with a third of a hint of oil. And for the drink offering you shall offer a third of a hint of wine, a pleasing aroma to the Lord. And when you offer a bull, this is what they getting mad about. And when you offer a bull as a burnt offering or sacrifice to fulfill a vow, or for peace offerings to the the Lord, then one shall offer with A bull grain of a grain offering of 3, 10 of an Ephah of fine flour mixed with half a. Uh. H of oil. And you shall offer for the drink offering half a hin of wine as a food offering, a pleasing aroma to the Lord. Thus it shall be done. For each bull or ram, or for each lamb or a young bull, as many as you offer, so shall you do each one, as many as there are. Every native Israelite shall do these things in this way, in offering a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord. And if a stranger is sojourning with you, or anyone is living permanently among you and he wishes to offer a food offering with a pleasing aroma to the Lord, he shall do as well you do for the assembly. There shall be one statute for you, and for the stranger who sojourns with you, a statute forever. Throughout your generations, you and the so sojourner shall be a light before the Lord. One law and one rule shall be for you and for the stranger who so jo. So joins you with you. I don't know how to say.

Christopher: Say that you're saying it right.

Kathryn: Okay. The Lord spoke to Moses saying, speak to the people of Israel and say to them, when you come into the land to which I bring you, and when you eat of the bread of the land land, you shall present a contribution to the Lord of the first of your dough. You shall present a loaf as a contribution, like a contribution from the threshing floor. So you shall you so shall you present it. Some of the first of your dough you shall give to the Lord as a contribution throughout your generations. So now this is the second part, which is laws about unintentional sins. But if you sin unintentionally and do not observe all these commandments that the Lord has spoken to Moses, all that the Lord has commanded you by. By Moses, from the day that the Lord gave commandment and onward throughout your generations. Then, if it was done unintentionally, without the knowledge of the congregation, all the congregation shall offer one bull from the herd of the for a burnt offering, a pleasing aroma to the Lord with its grain offering and its drink offering, according to the rule, and one male goat for a sin offering. And then the priest shall make atonement for all the congregation of the people of Israel, and they shall be forgiven because it was a mistake. And they have brought their offering a food offering to the Lord and their sin offering before the Lord for their mistake. And all the congregation of the people of Israel shall be forgiven. And the stranger who sojourns among them because the whole population was involved in the mistake. If one person sins unintentionally, he shall offer a female goat a year old for a sin offering. And the priest shall make atonement before the Lord for the person who makes a mistake when he sins unintentionally to make

00:15:00

Kathryn: atonement for him. And he shall be forgiven. You shall have one law for him who does anything unintentionally for him who is a native among the people of Israel, and for the stranger who sojourns among them. But the person who does anything with a high hand, whether he is a native or a sojourner, reviles the Lord. And that person shall be cut off from among his people because he has despised the word of the Lord and has broken his commandment. That person shall be utterly cut off. His iniquity shall be on him. This is called the Sabbath breaker executed.

Christopher: Um.

Kathryn: While the people of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day. And those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation. They put him in custody because it had not been made clear what should be done to him. And the Lord said to Moses, the man shall be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him m. With stones outside the camp. What?

Christopher: Did.

Kathryn: What? Because of sticks. Hold on.

Christopher: Oh.

Kathryn: Sabbath breaker executed. So.

Christopher: So he. He did something on the Sabbath.

Kathryn: Sabbath day. Dad.

Christopher: Hold on.

Kathryn: And the Lord shall. And the man shall be put to death. And all the congregation shall stone him with stones outside the camp. And all the congregation brought him outside the camp and stone him to death with stones as the Lord commanded. Moses, I see why you was talking about they should bring the dag horn, treat the hanging of the tree stuff. That ain't nothing compared to this.

Christopher: No.

Kathryn: Um, okay, so tassels on garments. And then. Then 16 is going to start.

Christopher: Okay.

Kathryn: The Lord said to Moses, speak to the people of Israel and tell them to make tassels on the corners of their garments throughout their generations. And to put a cord of blue on the tassel of each corner. And it shall be a tassel for you to look at and remember all the commandments of the Lord to do them. Not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes. Wow. Which you are inclined to pour after. Wow.

Christopher: Uh.

Kathryn: So you shall remember and do all my commandments and be holy to your God. I am the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God. I am the Lord your God. God.

Christopher: So everybody had to put tassels on. So they remember the commandments of God. That places a high importance on the, the, the word of God. If everybody had to do it as a reminder.

Kathryn: And the reason was, I think God was saying they have to be reminded because they, they will drift away. They will commit adultery against God.

Christopher: Yeah. Yeah.

Kathryn: Which is why he used the word for after.

Christopher: Yeah, I think.

Kathryn: I don't know.

Christopher: No, that's right.

Kathryn: Okay, uh, so, uh, here it is. K's rebellion.

Christopher: So did they get mad because of the tassels? Well, we.

Kathryn: Great find.

Christopher: We're very.

Kathryn: Find out, uh, Neor and the son of Isar, son of Kohath, son of Levi, and Dathan and Abraham, the son of Eliab, and on the son of Ph, sons of Reuben, took men. They rose up before Moses with a number of people of Israel, 250 Chiefs of the congregation chosen from the assembly. Well known men. They assembled themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, said to them, you have gone too far. For all in the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them. Why then do you exalt yourselves above the assembly of the Lord? So I don't know where that came from, but it sounds like they were trying to make it seem like God didn't tell you to do this. Yeah, y' all didn't. Y' all didn't put your own selves in a position. In a position. And y' all trying to make us feel like we don't follow certain things. So now we gotta do all these extra things that you're trying to say because you think we live in foul. Something like that.

Christopher: I don't know. Yeah, that makes sense.

Kathryn: So when Moses heard it, he

00:20:00

Kathryn: fell on his face and he said to Korah and all his company, in the morning, the Lord will show who is his and who is holy and will bring him near to him. The one whom he chooses, he will bring near to him. Do this. Take Censors, Cora and all his company, put fire in them and put incense on them before the Lord tomorrow. And then the man whom the Lord chooses shall be the holy one. You have gone too far, sons of Levi. And Moses said to Korah, here, now, you sons of Levi, is it too small a, uh, thing for you that the, that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel to bring you near to himself, to do service in the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the congregation to minister to them, and that he has brought you near him and all your brothers, the sons of Levi, with you. And would you seek the priesthood also? Therefore, it is against the Lord that you in all your. All your company have gathered together. What is Aaron that you grumble against him? Um. And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abraham, the sons of Eliab, and said. And they said, we will not come up. It is a small thing that you have brought us up out of the land flowing with milk and honey to kill us in the wilderness, that you must also make yourself a prince over us. Moreover, you have not brought us into a land flowing with milk and honey, nor given us inheritance of fields and vineyards. Will you put out the eyes of these men? Will you? We will not come up. Uh. And Moses was very angry and said to the Lord, do not respect their offerings. Moses said this to the Lord. Yeah, Stop it.

Christopher: Yeah. And God honored it.

Kathryn: He said, I have not taken one donkey from them, and I have not harmed one of them. And Moses m. Said to Cor, be present, you and all your company before the Lord. You and they and Aaron tomorrow. And let every one of you take his sensor and put incense on it. And every one of you bring it before the Lord. Bring before the lord his sensor. 250 censors. You also, and Aaron each his sensor. So every man took his sensor and put fire in them, um, and made incense on them, and stood at the entrance of the tent of meeting with Moses and Aaron. What is a sensor? C E N S E R.

Christopher: It's a round bowl goblet that you can put spices and herbs and things like that. They usually do that. And they light it, and it has an incense that comes out of it. And you see the Catholic people using it. They. The priest will have it, and he'll be swinging it. But it's a copy of what they did in the temple. When they go, oh, uh, I think as they're approaching the Holy of Holies, or going into the middle part, they have that sensor to cleanse the atmosphere, so to speak.

Kathryn: When you was reading the book that I bought you, it was either a book. Yeah, it was a book. And you said that. Yet you realize there's a group that's the closest to what God had originally said. Who is that? Is it the. You said something about the Catholics.

Christopher: Oh, um. Um. The Orthodox Jews. Yeah. Yep, the Orthodox Jews. So they followed all of these things that I know of from the. From the temple. They did the same thing that Moses. They don't cut their hair. They don't carry any burdens. Um, they. They. It's a strict adherence to the things in the Bible.

Kathryn: Do they believe in Season?

Christopher: Um, today they don't believe Season came yet. They're still waiting for him to come.

Kathryn: Gotcha.

Christopher: Yep.

Kathryn: I knew it was something similar to that.

Christopher: Which is crazy, because the. The. The Jewish people are waiting for Season

00:25:00

Christopher: to come. They're going to see him come and rapture the church. But if the church doesn't believe in the Rapture, how are they going to see him and start serving Him? I just thought about that. So this is why they're. This is why the devil is fighting the Rapture.

Kathryn: Wow.

Christopher: Uh, because he don't want people to know. He don't want the Jewish people to see him come. It's gonna be. For them. It'll be the first time.

Kathryn: Are you recording this?

Christopher: Okay, but for us, it'll be the second dawn.

Kathryn: Dang, that makes sense. Any sneaky way. Who speaking?

Christopher: What rebellious.

Kathryn: Okay, so, um, they're waiting with Moses at the tent.

Christopher: Okay.

Kathryn: Uh, it says, then Korra assembled all the congregation against them at the entrance of the tent of meeting. And the glory of the Lord appeared to that. To all the congregation. And the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in the moment. Oh, wow. In a moment. Let me read this again. And the Lord spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying, separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. And they fell on their faces and said, oh, God, the God of the spirits of all flesh shall one man sin? And will you be angry with all the congregation? And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, say to the congregation, get away from the drawing of Korah, Dathan and Abraham. Then Moses rose up and went to Dathan and. And Abiram and the elders of Israel followed him. And he spoke to the congregation, saying, depart please from the tents of these wicked men and touch nothing of theirs, lest you be swept away with all their sins. So they got away from the dwelling of Korah, Dathan and Abiram. And Dathan and Abiram came out and stood at the door of their tents together with their wives, their sons, and their little ones. And Moses said, hereby you shall know that the Lord has sent me to do all these works, and that has not been, um, of my own accord. If these men die, as all men die, or if these are. Or if they are visited by the fate of all mankind, then the Lord has not sent me. But if the Lord creates something new and the ground opens its Mouth and swallows them up with all that belongs to them. They go down alive into Sheol. Then you shall know that these men have despised the Lord. And as soon as he had finished speaking all these words, the ground under them split apart. You want to talk about fear, you need it. Let somebody say something about God. And I be. No, you. You ain't there when that dag on ground open up.

Christopher: Yeah.

Kathryn: Shoot.

Christopher: Yeah. Can you imagine how shook them people was after that happened?

Kathryn: We. Great. Find out. Hold on. As soon as he has finished speaking all these words, the ground under them split apart, and the earth opened his mouth and swallowed them up with their households and all the people who belong to Korah and all their goods. So they. So they. And all that belonged to them went down alive into Sheol. And the earth closed over them, and they perished from the midst of the assembly.

Christopher: Be rebellious if you want to.

Kathryn: And all Israel who were around them fled at their cry. Huh? They not preaching this behind the whole bit?

Christopher: Nope. We need to.

Kathryn: You know, God spoke through Pastor Barbara and said that we need to come back to speak the truth of the word.

Christopher: Y. Y. All right.

Kathryn: So it says, um, and all of Israel. Am I there? Yeah. Okay. And all of Israel who were around them fled at their cry. For they said, lest the earth swallows us up. And the fire came out from the Lord and consumed the 250 men offering the incense. Then the Lord.

Christopher: So wait a minute. Wait, wait. We got. We got. We got to back this up. So Abam and Doan, all of them separated themselves

00:30:00

Christopher: from core, and God still got him. I had never seen that before. Go back. And go. Go back just a little bit. In. In. Because they did, they separated themselves. Moses says something to him.

Kathryn: All right, so here's what it says. It says, say to the congregation, get away from the dwelling of Core days. And. And Abraham or Abram, whatever. Then Moses rose and went to Dan and Abram, and the elders of Israel followed him. So he only went to. To Dan and Abram at first, saying, get away from these wicked men. So they got away from the dwelling of Kor Daan. And Abram. Uh, oh, okay, so it sounds like. And Dan and Abram stood. And David and Nathan and Abram came out and stood at the door. Okay, so Nathan and Abram stood. And so, uh, they were swallowed up. So, Korra. Okay, so here it is. Let's see. And the earth opened his mouth and swallowed them up with their households and all the people who belong to Korah.

Christopher: Yeah.

Kathryn: Their goods.

Christopher: Yeah.

Kathryn: So it sounds like all three of. All three of these people in their family were. But it must have been other people.

Christopher: Well, the 250 priests. Uh-huh. It doesn't say that they went down.

Kathryn: Correct.

Christopher: It got to three. So what you just read. Read what you just read about God saying.

Kathryn: So this is what happened after they had Saul, that the earth opened up and

swallowed everybody that belonged to Cora, Dathan and Abram. Um, they said this. And all Israel around them fled at their cry, for they said, lest the earth swallows us up. And the fire came from the Lord and consumed the 250 men off.

Christopher: That's right. So. So they didn't get away with nothing. They did not get away with nothing. Even though they changed their mind at that point, realized, hey, we wrong. We going to. We going to slide over here with Moses and chill like, yeah, hey, sorry, abam doan core, y' all. We. We realize now you was wrong. Justice.

Kathryn: Yeah.

Christopher: God still didn't let him get away with it.

Kathryn: Then the Lord spoke to Moses saying, tell El. Delaware, uh, Eleazar and the son of Aaron the priest to take up the sensors out of the blue lays.

Christopher: Dad.

Kathryn: Then scatter the fire far and wide. For they have become holy as the sensors of these men who have sinned at the cost of their lives. Let them be made into hammered plates as a covering for the altar so.

Christopher: They'll never be used again as offering this, the incense before the Lord by anybody, because they tainted them. So they were the goblets or the. The bowls. But then they're being made a plate.

Kathryn: And God is saying that they have.

Christopher: Been made holy because as a plate but not a sensor.

Kathryn: Right. Okay. M. So it says, as for these sensors, for these men who have sinned at the cost of their lives, let them be made into hammer plates as a covering for the altar. For they offered them before the Lord and they became holy. Thus they shall be a. They shall be a sign to the people of Israel. So Eleazar the priest took the bronze, um, sensors which those who were burned had offered, and they. And they were hammered out as a covering for the altar. Two be a reminder to the people of Israel so that no outsider who is not of the descendants of Aaron shall draw near to burn incense before the Lord, lest he become like Korah and his company, as the daughter said to him through Moses.

Christopher: Interesting.

Kathryn: These people ain't learn yet.

Christopher: Mhm.

Kathryn: Listen to this. But on the next day, all the congregation of the people of Israel rumbled against Moses and against Aaron, saying, you have killed the people of The Lord?

Christopher: Are you serious?

Kathryn: And when the congregation had assembled against Moses and against Aaron, they turned toward the tent of the meeting, and behold

00:35:00

Kathryn: the cloud covering it. And the glory of the Lord appeared. And Moses and Aaron came to the front of the tent of meeting. And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, get away from the midst of the congregation that I may consume them in a moment. And they fell on their faces. And Moses said to Aaron, take your sensor and put the fire on it from. From off the altar and lay incense on it and carry it quickly to the congregation and make atonement for them. Um, for the wrath has gone out from the Lord. The plague has begun. So Aaron took it, as Moses said, and ran into the midst of the assembly. And behold, the plague had already begun among the people.

Christopher: People dropping like flies.

Kathryn: And he put on the incense and made atonement for the people. And he stood between the dead and the living. And the plague was stopped. Now, those who died in the plague were 14, 700, uh, besides those who died in the affair of Cora Dang. And Aaron returned to Moses at the entrance of the 10 of meeting, when the plague was stopped.

Christopher: If your heart ain't right, you ain't. You're not going to be able to hide.

Kathryn: Again.

Christopher: Yeah.

Kathryn: The fire of God is completely destroyed.

Christopher: Yeah. Wow.

Kathryn: So in research, again, it says something about God's nature. And the second thing is, say God's presence. Exodus 3. 2 says, and the angel of the Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush. He. He looked, and behold, the bush was burning, yet it was not consumed. We talked a little bit about that last week. And, um, I remembered the story where. Because the. The flames caught Moses's attention. M. And you heard a voice come out of, uh, the fire, out of the flame. And I think somebody said it was an angel. Angel. But it was the Lord himself, if I'm not mistaken, because he said something about, take, this land is holy. Take your shoes off. And this is where. Is this where God told him that he was going to do something in that fire. Is that what he said?

Christopher: I think so, yeah.

Kathryn: Okay, cool. He was going to use his mouth and all that stuff. Okay. All right. So that's about in the presence of the fire of God is in his presence, or what have you. And then there's another one in Exodus 19, it says now Mount Sinai was wrapped in smoke because the Lord had descended on it in fire. Smoke of it went up, uh, like the smoke of a kill. A kill. I don't know how to say that.

Christopher: K I l n kiln. That's what you bake pottery in.

Kathryn: Okay. And the whole mountain TR tremble greatly.

Christopher: D.

Kathryn: Now, the last thing that we want to discuss tonight is the fire of God, uh, with activity. So Acts 2, 3 says, and divided tongues, as a fire appeared to them, uh, and rested on each one of them. This is about the fire of God. The presence of maybe the Holy Spirit. Spirit came up. I don't know. But you know how they. The Spirit of the Lord fell upon them and they started speaking in tongues. So the fire is. The fire is really deep. It's a lot of scriptures that pertain to the fire. Amos 1:10 says, so, uh, I will send a fire upon the wall of T and it shall devour her strongholds. This is about activity. The last One is numbers 11:1. And the people complained in the hearing of the Lord about their misfortunes. And when the Lord heard, his anger was kindled. And the fire of the Lord burned among them and consumed some outlying parts of the camp. So this is me putting this together together within 15 minutes, 20 minutes, half hour. Just trying to follow a pattern. But, um, I want to study this more. I titled this, uh, the Fire of God series, part one.

Christopher: I like it.

Kathryn: So we'll see what happens. But I think. I don't think that people understand the dynamics. I don't know if that's the right word of, of the fire that God carries, that God releases, whether it's fire, hell, whether the fire comes from him to refine, or rather the fires that come to destroy the people on the earth.

Christopher: So it seems like it's one element,

00:40:00

Christopher: but it has many different characteristics.

Kathryn: Correct.

Christopher: But it's all God.

Kathryn: Correct.

Christopher: So, you know, it's. At this point, I think it would be easy to see why people would get confused, because the church is only teaching the love of God and they're not teaching the other aspects of God as far as his character and his nature.

Kathryn: Yes.

Christopher: So they getting tricked. People in the church is getting tricked because, well, I thought God was this loving person, loving me. And he wants me and he wants. Wants to, uh, kiss me and, uh, be friends with me. And we're going to be besties. And that the besties part only comes m in after you're obedient. Uh, after you get cleansed.

Kathryn: Yes.

Christopher: After you start sanctifying yourself and removing yourself from the things of the world.

Kathryn: Yes.

Christopher: That's when you become besties.

Kathryn: Yes. And this is what this was all about. I think, in my opinion, God had to set laws in place for these people to learn to walk in the ways of the Lord. And God warned them to put that tassel on them so they can remember where they came from and remember the commandments so they don't get messed up. And still all that they have witnessed from the dag on ground opening up.

Christopher: Uh, yeah.

Kathryn: The very next day, they gonna still say, moses, y' all did this as if God isn't who God said he was. I, uh.

Christopher: Like how, uh, you brought out that Moses said, do a new thing, something they ain't ever seen before. And even with that, they still didn't believe because, like you said, they came back the next day. But that made me think about the. The song that, um, Furtick sings. Elevation, work, worship. Guys, um, it's a new thing coming. Oh, what does that really mean? Oh, we think, you know, we think we gonna get new clothes, a new house, nothing. But is this a new level of destruction that God's about to bring?

Kathryn: I don't know about that. Hold on. Yeah, maybe not. I mean, I see what you're saying, but that song definitely does not say.

Christopher: Yeah. I mean, it was. I'm pretty sure he didn't write it thinking about destruction, but if he based it off of this scripture, that I'm going to do a new thing. What? We. We don't understand the word. No, we don't understand the word. I know there's another scripture about. There's a new thing that I'm going to be, um. I don't know. I don't know where it's at. I'm gonna have to look that up and see. See what that other thing is. Because I. I, uh, remember it vaguely. It's in. It's something about the ears. It's something. Something new of which your ears are going to tingle. But it was a judgment that God was going to bring upon the people because they was being dumb. No. Yeah.

Kathryn: In the Old Testament.

Christopher: Yeah, I think it was in the Old Testament. I have to look it up and see. But, uh, it definitely had tingling ears. Stop. So I think overall, the church has got to get back to these basics in finding out the truth of who the character and the nature of God is, because they're not being taught these basic truths. And I remember when I was growing up, these are the things that we heard first, you know, when we first got saved. These are the things that were. Was presented to you. So you knew the God that you were serving. You knew he didn't play. You knew that he expected you to walk the walk and not, uh, not be out here doing stuff you shouldn't be doing in front of everybody. It was. It was a separation from the things of the world.

Kathryn: I think this is where God wants us to get back to. And I do think that there is going to be a fear of the Lord that is going to return and for those who get it, those who. Who walk in it. I did not know the fear of the Lord when I started studying it. Not, you know, about a year or so ago. I didn't understand the way that God showed me. It was like, what. You know, because he. It went back to how the fear of the Lord is a blessing.

Christopher: Yes.

Kathryn: And how Job carried the fear of the Lord and that's why he was the richest man.

Christopher: Yes.

Kathryn: And Satan was upset about that. He was upset because the character

Kathryn: that.

Christopher: Doesn't Satan even say does. Does. Does Job fear God for nothing or something like that?

Kathryn: Yes. And he was basically saying, because you gave him everything, you put a hedge of protection around him and all that stuff, if you take that away from him, he's going to curse you to your face. And God said, let him do it. Let them do it. So, you know, the, the I love how God sends me on a rabbit trail because it's like, boom. It connects all the dots.

Christopher: Yeah.

Kathryn: And, um, the fear of the Lord needs to return back to the heart of man.

Christopher: Yes.

Kathryn: Without that fear. Without that fear, you have nothing.

Christopher: Yes.

Kathryn: Anything goes.

Christopher: No desire to be right, no desire to stay right. And it's. It's all based upon. Driven by that fear.

Kathryn: Yeah. And it's a, uh, it's a good. Remember, you remember we talked about how it's a good fear, and it was a, uh, health. It's a healthy, good fear. And then there's a bad fear. The bad fear comes from being tormented by the enemy.

Christopher: Yeah.

Kathryn: And that good, healthy fear is the fear that you want because it goes back to. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. Um, and knowledge.

Christopher: Yes.

Kathryn: And. And something else. And so come on. Like you. Come on. You need wisdom. You better have the fear of the Lord. You better understand he's great.

Christopher: Yes.

Kathryn: He's powerful. And that he loves you. And if you don't. Huh. When I started looking up, uh, scriptures about, um, if you don't do well, will you not be. If you do well, will you not be honored? When I start putting that into, um, I put the phrase in there about doing well in a search. This is all that God said to the Israelites people. Israelite people.

Christopher: Absolutely.

Kathryn: That's all. Absolutely do well. Moses was saying it was an encouragement to do well.

Christopher: Yes.

Kathryn: Yeah. Moses. Yeah, it was Moses. And other people were saying do this so you could do. So you could do well and be blessed. And I said dad, I didn't know all of this was in here.

Christopher: Mhm.

Kathryn: It's a lot that we missing if we don't study it.

Christopher: Yeah.

Kathryn: So.

Christopher: And see it for what it really is.

Kathryn: This is from the very beginning. This is what happened with Adam and Eve. God told them don't do something, give them the law. And so what did they do? They had to learn the hard way.

Christopher: Yep.

Kathryn: Then it came down from their children and God looked at Cain, was like, you know, dag on well.

Christopher: Yep.

Kathryn: If you do well, will you not be honored or whatever that is not.

Christopher: Sentenced crouching at your door.

Kathryn: Yeah. So um.
